...before you leap into our world...
...before you leap into our world...
1) No swearing will be permitted in character; out of character, only mild language will be overlooked (damn etc.) If you spew torrents of abuse you may be kicked without warning and quite possibly banned.
2) We ask that you keep all drama involving other packs out of the OOC channel, we will not be accused of conspiracy or 'bitching' and do not want to be involved in disputes that do not directly concern us.
3) By all means, display affectionate behaviour and share the love! But I am afraid that lewd behaviour or vigorous sexual intercourse is not to take place in our channels thank you very much. There are many places for that, and this is not one of them.
4) Earthensong is a pack which is based on realism and factual bounds and - as such - we do not accept the use of 'magic 'under any circumstances. Furthermore, miraculous healing, immunity to wounds and killing someone with a single blow is not something we will support here.
5) Yet again to adhere to realism and to put to rest all the mindless squabbling about who is the biggest wolf, we find ourselves driven to create a height restriction. No wolf joining Earthensong will be taller than 37 inches at the shoulder, this is far more than average and so should suffice for anyone creating a character. Beyond this level would require some form of unfair mutation or some kind of wolven steroid that we sadly don't supply.
6) God-moding is strictly forbidden.
7) As the pack is located in such a remote area, humans are not accepted here unless their presence is specifically granted by the Alphas/Betas during a planned roleplay. These roles can never be adopted as a permanent character.
8) Fighting for the purpose of antagonizing another character - IC or OOC - or to purposely harm/kill another character is not permitted. One exception to this rule would be when the Alphas have approved of the conflict when it is fundamental to an approved plot.
9) On nights of planned RP and especially during hunts, please try to maintain a posting order to help avoid confusion and people being mistakingly overlooked from the action.
10) All RP plots (long term and short term) must be approved by a member of the Council.
11) Please try not to idle in the channels - if you have to nip away somewhere, change your nick accordingly to reflect your status.
12) General, socially acceptable rules must also apply to the OOC chat: Please don’t antagonize, pester, bother, or tease someone who is unreceptive or unwilling to receive that behaviour.
13) Please be mindful of other peoples' political, religious, spiritual, ethical, racial, sexual orientation and backgrounds. If you have something to say to someone along those bounds, please do so in a private message. The OOC channel will not be a breeding place for hostilities - but rather a refuge and a home for our friends and family.

...there is more than one side to everyone...
...there is more than one side to everyone...
1) While most packs do not allow multiple characters, here at Earthensong all RPers are allowed three characters within the pack - one main and two multis, if you will.
2) Only one of these wolves will be allowed to hold a Council rank.
3) Both main and multis may have any relations they wish - all may be courted or mated.
4) Plot characters and 'side' characters may be brought in at any time, are limitless in number and do not count as a multi so to speak - though each must be approved by the Council if they are to be long-standing visitors.
5) The Earthensong pack itself consists of wolves only. All characters that are not wolves must be approved prior to role playing.
6) You may not use your alternative characters to join another pack; your loyalty to Earthensong alone is obviously expected from all members whether main or multi.

...bonds to last a lifetime...
...bonds to last a lifetime...
1) All relationships - whether they be Mateships, Adoptions or Spirit Sibling bonds - must not be taken lightly and entered into with haste. They are forged to last, so consider wisely.
2) Relations with others are not only bonds deeply founded IC but also OOC, so permissions will never be granted when you have just met another character.
3) There will be a waiting period for all relationships to allow for a time of observation before any ceremony will be held.
4) Out-of-pack bondings will have to be approved by the packs of both wolves involved. If one contests the bond, legitimate reason will have to be provided and agreed upon. If reason is provided, the bond will be recognised in our clearing regardless, dependent on circumstance.
5) A wolf must be at least 10 months old before requesting to court, and at least 22 months old to request a Mateship.
6) If you ever ask to dissolve a relationship, you will be advised to think very carefully before making any rash decisions.
7) Only wolf couples 2 years and over may ask permission to breed, which will always be granted unless circumstances dictate otherwise.
8) After a birthing, you will be given 2 months to find RPers for your cubs - remember you can always take one on as your multi - before any left without must be noted as dead.

...the thrill of the kill, before the fall...
...the thrill of the kill, before the fall...
1) No hunting in the Fields is allowed without the permission of an Alpha or Beta.
2) If you do not know how to hunt with our bot, ask for instructions before the hunt begins. Those leading the party will be more than happy to help you.
3) The bot's actions and prey responses are randomized. Therefore, there is a chance for everyone to be hit and wounded by the prey. The degree and severity of the wound is determined by the action as well as the RPer of the wolf on the receiving end of the hit.
4) If you claim that your wolf has become injured or sick - regardless of the circumstances - your wolf will become exactly that. There is no 'undo' button and it is mandatory that you RP your wolf under the effects of the wound or illness until fully recovered.
5) Healing and recovery from sickness and injury occurs in real time. For example, if your wolf is hurt in a hunt and it’s leg is broken, it can take between 6 weeks and 3 months to heal! During that entire time period, the wolf will be under the care of a Caretaker and/or Paladin; if neither rank is filled, a Council member will take responsibility of the patient.
6) Wolves who are sick or injured will be required to obey the Caretaker/Paladin of the pack first and foremost. Their word on what physical activity is allowed will triumph over every member of the pack - except the Alpha's - unless otherwise directed.
