It had occurred to those that knew of Hinaezuu from birth that she was doomed to be an incredibly unremarkable female; her bright eyes and tawny coat were nothing out of the ordinary for a whelp her age and she could not boast any feature that would possibly set her aside from the masses. Indeed, it was not until her very first year that opinions were to be swayed. By this time her eyes had finally settled in colour to a cerulean of gentle sheen, delicately laced with a strange smoldering amber that some did not quite know how to remark upon - many thought her odd with a deformity while several others saw it as a startling display of beauty. Her lithe frame is one of a seasoned huntress hanging a rather luxurious pelt of sienna, streaked with wild dashes of cream and silver. The female's muzzle bridge bears a mark bestowed when she fell ill of a mountain lion while trying to protect her young son Lynaak, though thankfully this modest nick is all she received. Those marring the underside of her muzzle however were inflicted by her kin during a quarrel over scarcity of meat; it emerged that these wolves were of a less forgiving disposition than the mountain lion even and the scars Hinaezuu was forced to bear were ten times more savage. Her face is gentle but there is an unexplained sadness hidden deep behind the eyes; her world-weary state of mind, which she only rarely indulges, is given form through her aging body.

In mind and spirit at least Hinaezuu is among the most curious of creatures. Throughout her brief time in untroubled cubhood she was an animated soul, her mirthful nature even carried into her later youth as a growing female, but after losing her brother Skariim she was left to her darkest lesson - loneliness. From the very beginning of her life she had been forced to recognise the true heartache each and every path might lead her to - many of them unavoidable - but during those times of hardship she had always been able to draw on the strength of her family to help overcome her troubles. Lost without them she became something of a terminally saddened soul that the world could no longer comfort. Finding her mate and the friends that soon followed though began to bring her out of the dark dwelling she had fashioned in the bowels of her being; but that tortured spirit would forever lurk within and threaten her with it's reappearance. When alone she is a creature of lamentation but amongst her nearest and dearest her eyes glow with a warmth only her most beloved can bring. The fae is known to have wisdom beyond her years, but while she calls upon it often she does not flaunt it in the sights of others lest they ask of her guidance. Hinaezuu is a generally caring soul, but perhaps too trusting of those that would bring harm to her and her home. It is not in her nature to be overly suspicious, despite what her past might rightfully teach her, and a great deal of pain has come of this in past years.

The beginning of Hinaezuu's tale is set to the unforgiving backdrop of the frozen heart in the Alaskan wilderness. Born to a pack where healthy litters were few and far between, she was proud to be among the Aurorans who had survived the coldest winter of the decade. Her cubhood - though pleasant and safe enough - was simply filled with an endless parade of blurred faces she was never to see again. After the day her father was challenged and beaten for alphaship of Aurora Hinaezuu, her parents and her littermates were exiled from the packlands and left to fend for themselves as they trudged across the icy, barren landscape to whatever hollow they dared to call home. However well Kaltekh and Sinara seemed to be coping with their young ones though, the period of relative ease was brief and met a swift end. It was their grave misfortune to fall to the mercy of a hunter's gun; although the resting place of Hinaezuu's father could never be completely determined it was later revealed he had somehow been able to drag himself to safety, his predicament then preventing him from returning to his children. A snowstorm seemed bidden to brutalise the wolves' hollow that very night and Hinaezuu's siblings Kiavo and Eoté became split from the group in the throes of the violent blizzard, leaving she and her brother Skariim to travel, hunt and sleep alone.
Now about a year old the two would stumble upon some poor decrepit animal and perhaps attempt a kill to source their next meal, but having never been taught the fine art of the hunt these ventures were often unsuccessful or clumsy. It was this inexperience that eventually caused the demise of Skariim who made the fundamental mistake of startling a bison with no intention of giving chase; naturally the beast fought back and won. From then on Hinaezuu wandered without her counterpart and brother, lost and cold. The yearling femme never knew the comfort of her own company until she had been so very alone. From time to time she would come across packs or fellow nomads and try to negotiate some of their latest kill, but such dealings usually resulted in her being wounded and barely able to walk. It was only after she was set upon by an entire pack and scarred beneath her muzzle that she opted to simply try her luck at smaller game, as an alternative to asking around. Keeping herself alive on a diet of nothing more than rabbits and hares helped her precious little and it was not long before she became weak and frail. As luck would have it though she was to meet a young wolf by the name of Kivak when she reached her second year who introduced her to his family of the Sweetmystics. Hunter - the Alpha Female - welcomed her into the pack fold with a warm heart. As time passed Hinaezuu and Kivak grew ever closer and it was but a month or two before the pair were courted and mated. The newly taken fae adopted the role of mother to his two adoptive daughters Brightstar and Akera, and Hunter became something of a mother to Hinaezuu in turn. She was also to gain a Spiritbrother in the coming year upon whom she could rely, though Seneca could never wholly fill the void Skariim had left her. At long last Hinaezuu had found her place where she was valued and held some degree of importance, serving her family and Alpha.
Life in this new land seemed glorious but as the months crawled past ill feeling seemed to swell among certain wolves and to escape it all Kivak and Hinaezuu struck out to form Earthensong, taking a reliable fae by the name of Arieanna as their Beta and another by the name of Cloverwolf as their Caretaker. Their home was named not long before she was blessed with her first litter - SummerRain, Calika and Ghostpaws. The couple were new to Alphaship but with Arieanna at their side they eased into the rhythm of the role rather well and presented strong but kind leaders. During the pack's second year however Kivak and Hinaezuu took the decision to disband the group due to troubles that had stirred from within, charging Arieanna with guiding all those remaining across the mountains to a new settlement at Eternal Haven. Through this migration their son Alumir of Hinaezuu's second litter was separated - later discovered and cared for by Kivak's brother Lunarr - and their beloved daughter SummerRain was wounded and crippled lame by her injuries after a fall. To compound this saddening state of affairs Kivak was later captured and spirited away by an invasive crowd of humans. Hinaezuu's past cubs had grown distant and she became increasingly distressed at not knowing the whereabouts of her mate and young. She searched for weeks to find some clue as to their fate, but she soon lost hope - the trail seemed to cold and all was lost.
After a short stay with the Druids that the Alpha Female Tala kindly afforded her Hinaezuu stumbled her way into Wolfpirits in that same hopeless state of mind. It was only with the help of the pack and their legendary leader Kovo - who would later become a treasured Spiritsister - that she was able to nurse her soul until she felt well enough in heart and mind to go through life day by day without her life mate at her side. Finally she had pledged herself to a pack and fully intended to live out the rest of her days within it, but that was not enough to dismiss the temptation to wander back to her home of old in the Earthensong packlands. Which is where she discovered Kivak. It seemed he had escaped, barely alive and severely wounded, but Hinaezuu led him back to the Wolfspirits' clearing where he was accepted. After making the pack their new residence the couple's eldest son Ghostpaws reappeared with two of their youngest children in tow to bring them to safety - Serenity and Khajiit. Already overwhelmed and delighted with their reppearance, the fae was awarded the additional joy of reunion with her sister Eoté. Unfortunately the news she had travelled long and hard to bring did not bode well; Kiavo had passed away long years ago. It was still comforting for her though to discover her family had not completely fallen. Wolfspirits truly had become a home in Hinaezuu's heart, all wolves there were welcoming and generous and she had become mightily proud of the bonds she had forged with many. Yet there was something about their lives she and Kivak found to be unfulfilled or unfinished, a niggling at the back of the mind that would soon mount to a gnawing not to be ignored.
The eruption of these feelings of unease coinciding with the reppearance of Trueeye and Symfora urged the pair to break away from Wolfspirits with heavy hearts. But those hearts were still filled with a hope of resurrection that was invested in the reformation of Earthensong. Along with their new son Lynaak and adopted daughter Willows they travelled to their once-home to breathe life into the land again, a decidedly final resting place for all. They entered a covenant not to move nor dissolve again and took Symfora as their loyal Beta, though she left the self same year much to their disappointment. Kivak's brother Chande - related to the infamous Canadil - was then elevated to the role, a wolf Hinaezuu had grown close to since he was drawn officially into the family. It was Hinaezuu's belief that Earthensong should stand strong, proud to ride abreast to her mate at the helm. Although some of her young ones are beyond her reach and her blood relatives seem to be fast dwindling in number she still harbours hope she will find them again no matter how foolish a wish. The aged fae has been left with a fair few scars, both in body and spirit, but she has a family around her now to help when that aching returns and the old wounds begin to throb.
{ C H A R A C T E R - Q U I R K S }
Hinaezuu has very few quirks of the personality that set her aside from most other wolves, but she does have an irrational fear of spiders that makes her the bud of many jokes to her mate Kivak, who often delights in light-heartedly tormenting her about the subject. This usually just provokes a retort regarding his strange crusade against squirrels, though...
